Spark Forward

Eradicating disease and innovating healthcare

Children’s Wisconsin has long been the best place for kids to receive physical health care, whether preventive or curative. By discovering better ways to prevent, treat and eliminate childhood diseases, we not only help today’s young patients — we impact the health of future generations by training the next generation of clinicians and scientists.

The power of Spark Forward

Cancer care with compassion

The MACC Fund Center treats more than 3,000 kids annually, and 302 patients were enrolled in clinical trials in 2023.

Hearts and hope

The Herma Heart Institute teams see more than 12,000 patient visits annually, and in the past 50 years the HHI teams have performed nearly 22,000 surgeries.

Saving lives and improving outcomes

The state’s first and largest, our Level IV NICU cares for more than 800 premature and critically ill newborns every year.

How does Spark Forward fuel our mission?

Kids are not just little adults — they need specialized care for their developing bodies. That’s why our providers, clinicians and researchers work to innovate care for kids at every phase of life, from before they’re born, to when they’re diagnosed with a disease, to when they transition home from the hospital and beyond. This ensures we’re driving clinical discoveries that give kids the best quality of life today and the longest life possible.

But it’s not just the care. It’s the caring that matters. In addressing kids’ physical health, we also ensure that families are educated about what best and safest care means, striving to accompany them on a compassionate journey of healing.
