Shine Through

Creating solutions for mental and behavioral health

Wisconsin kids are facing a mental health crisis. In every corner of our state — every county, town and neighborhood — a family is struggling to help their child. These are our kids, and this is our crisis. Children’s Wisconsin is leveraging our deep expertise, extensive community partnerships and unmatched reach, and we won’t stop until every child and teen has access to mental and behavioral health care when they need it.

The power of Shine Through

A stigma no more

We are reducing the stigma around mental health challenges, which shifts how kids and families perceive services and normalizes care.

No health without mental health

Children’s Wisconsin has expanded our definition of health — believing that mental and behavioral health is just as important as physical and social health.

Setting the national standard

Mental and behavioral services and support are integrated across our footprint and throughout our community so we set a national standard.

How does Shine Through fuel our mission?

In 2019, Children’s Wisconsin put a stake in the ground for mental and behavioral health, announcing a commitment to address the growing crisis Wisconsin kids are facing. We have placed child and adolescent mental and behavioral health providers in primary, specialty and urgent care offices, as well as in spaces where we find kids and families the most — at home, at school and in the community.

Our mental and behavioral health work aims to create a gold standard and a future where kids and families have seamless access to the care they need in the neighborhoods where they live, learn, work and play.
