Louie’s Last Regatta started in 1999 by a group of Milwaukee sailors who wanted a final sailing regatta of the season, and wanted to raise awareness and funding for Children’s Wisconsin.

In 1999, a crew of Milwaukee sailors set out to create something special. Something more than just one last regatta of the season. They launched a mission: A unique and thrilling race that champions Children’s Wisconsin.

Fast forward to 2025, and Louie’s Last Regatta is celebrating 27 years as one of the Midwest’s largest regattas, raising over $1.6 million for children in need. This highly anticipated event isn’t just a race - it’s a tradition, a celebration and the grand finale of the sailing season for sailors across Lake Michigan.

Louie’s Last Regatta is an inclusive event; Sailors of all skill levels are invited to race. Bring your friends, family and pups to the shoreside, post-race celebration! Join in the fun with games, awards, a costume contest and so much more.
